At the time of retirement, monthly payment amount is calculated based on very specific and individual parameters - compensation records, credited service time, days of unused annual and sick leave, and which retirement plan (South Carolina Retirement System or Police Officers Retirement System) applies to the retiree.

Currently there are three methods you can use for estimating monthly payments. They are distinguished by how close one is to retirement and the ability to predict all of the parameters used at time of retirement.

Quickest Method  

If several years from retirement; use for planning.

Quick Method  

If a couple of years from retirement; more accurate.

Full Method  

When retirement is close; full parameter computation.
