The Retirement Systems is committed to providing its covered employers with the information and assistance necessary to perform functions related to enrollment of members, member information changes and education, and contribution reporting.
We have several tools available to help you do this job. The most comprehensive reference tool we offer is the Covered Employer Procedures Manual, which is typically updated each fiscal year. We also publish a quarterly employer update and utilize periodic memos and/or postcards to address issues requiring more immediate attention and/or dissemination.

Come Train With Us!
The Retirement Systems offers comprehensive two-day employer training sessions in its Columbia office and at regional locations across the state for benefits administrators, payroll personnel, human resource officials, and others involved in the administration of public employee benefits. Retirement Systems' staff conduct this training in small, informal sessions that encourage group participation. The curriculum focuses on beginner-based training but also covers new procedures and updates mandated by legislation and policy changes. The following topics are included:

These classes are extremely popular and fill up very quickly, so if you're interested in attending, be sure to register now. These presentations are ideal for new employees who will be working with our retirement plans and provide a solid overall training for managers. Often, there are repeat attendees who desire refresher training.
In certain cases, the Retirement Systems offers limited onsite employer training, such as new employer orientation presentations.
