SCRS or State ORP - Select Your Retirement Plan
If you have been hired by a state agency, public school district, or higher education institution in a permanent full-time or part-time position, you have two retirement plans from which to choose. You have 30 days from your date of hire to choose the retirement plan that best suits your needs. We have resources and tools to help you make the choice that's right for you.
If you are eligible for SCRS membership or State ORP participation, view the "It's Your Choice: SCRS or State ORP" video on this website and download the Select Your Retirement Plan guide. These tools provide an overview of both plans and will help you determine which of the two retirement plans best suits your needs.
Once you have chosen the retirement plan that best suits your needs, please complete a Retirement Plan Enrollment (Form 1100) and return it to your employer. Your employer will complete the employer portion of the form and submit it to the Retirement Systems on your behalf.
Employees of local subdivisions of government are not eligible for State ORP participation.
